It is hard to believe we are already at the end of November. This has been a very busy month for our class. We held our annual States Parade, and it was our best one yet! We introduced North America and learned about its indigenous people. During our all-school event, the Woodell family spoke to all the students about the Lumbee tribe, and Lynkon demonstrated a warrior dance while wearing his regalia. We also explored the USA, and the kindergarten students went on a field trip to Fort Fisher.

In December, we will learn how different countries celebrate the holidays. We will also learn about community helpers throughout history (blacksmiths, candle-makers, etc.), and the children will learn how to make candles.

Here are a few dates to remember:

·      Wednesday, December 19: last day of school before winter break

·      Monday, January 6: classes resume

We want to wish you all a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.

In Peace,

Ms. Samara and Ms. Jodi
